In July 2023, the MEAK eye team carried out a very successful eye mission in the Nyahururu and Elburgon areas in the Laikipia County, Kenya.
Mission Statistics – The team spent 7 days in Elburgon and 3 days in Nyahururu. 1,594 patients were reviewed with 305 patients having eye surgery, 296 patients having cataract surgery to restore sight.
Nearly 2,000 bottles of vitamin or antibiotic eye drops were dispensed and 700 pairs of photochromatic glasses and sunglasses were given out.
